IIn 1989, Bruce Fina and Andrew Herrick created Pedro’s. Named for the founders' third roommate, the company built its foundation on a passion for cycling and a commitment to the environment, which led to the crafting and manufacturing of quality bike maintenance products.

The first order came from Downeast Bicycle Distributors in Maine, USA. It came via the fax machine at the Office of the President at Tuft’s University in Medford, Mass., where Bruce and Andrew were still students. Their first successes came at the expo at the Mount Snow National Off-Road Bicycle Association event. From there, Pedro’s continued going to events and giving out free lube jobs. They told people to go to their local bike shop and buy some of their lube. It worked. The company grew considerably to become Pedro’s Inc., with more than 100 bicycle care products sold in 41 countries.

Most days you’ll find us on our bikes. Most weekends you’ll find us at events. We work for advocacy by supporting the noble efforts of Bikes Belong, IMBA, People for Bikes, and MassBike. We take pride in our dedication to crafting innovative products. We feel our people are as important as our products and to support our people, here are just a few of the benefits that Pedro’s offers in an effort to care for our team:

• We encourage employees to ride and commute by bike. We are currently drafting an incentive program to reward trips by bike and other commute options.

• We offer showers and lockers to all employees as well as access to a workout area, stationary trainers and weekly yoga classes, all within the office.

• Pedro’s host a weeklong riding retreat each year to build camaraderie and help strengthen the team (nothing builds a stronger team than riding the mountains of West Virginia together!)

Of course people have come and gone from the company, but we’ve always sustained a passion for cycling that’s unmatched in the industry. We continue to improve the cycling experience for our customers and strive to lead the industry with ever-innovative products.
