In 1989 two guys from New England founded Pedro’s. The first order for products came from Downeast Bicycle Distributors in Maine, USA. It came over the fax machine at the University President’s Office at Tuft’s University where Bruce and Andrew were still students. After University, they moved to Rhode Island for the cheap rent and a garage to work in. 30 Brewer St in Newport.

First successes came at the expo at the Mt Snow NORBA event. There were only two other companies attending when Pedro’s started: Shimano and Specialized. From there Pedro’s continued going to events and giving out free lube jobs. They told people to go to the shop and buy some. It worked. That company grew considerably to become Pedro’s Inc., with more than 100 bicycle care products sold in 41 countries.

People have come and gone from this company, but we’ve maintained a passion for cycling unmatched in the industry. We feel our people are as important as our products.

Looking ahead, we are fortifying our commitment to our founding mission. Most days you’ll find us on our bikes. Most weekends you’ll find us at events. We work for advocacy. We take pride in our dedication to crafting innovative products. We want to succeed in business but in a nice way that respects people, animals, and the planet.

At the core of our mission is a belief that the bicycle is an instrument of good and the best way to promote the bicycle is to help people keep ‘em rolling.
