Pedro's History
1989: Pedro's is started by two college students in Cambridge, MA - Introduces Syn Lube ATB.
1990: Pedro's moves to Newport, RI and introduces Syn Lube Road.
1990: Pedro's and Shimano are the only expo participants at the NORBA Nationals.
1991: Pedro's provides neutral support at the Tour De Trump.
1991: Syn Grease is introduced.
1992: Bio Degreaser and Bike Lust start cleaning and shining bikes everywhere!
1992: Pedro's begins Grassroots Support Program.
1993: Pedro's debuts the first recycled grip - The Blackwalls.
1993: Pedro's and Butch Balzano hook up and start the world famous Pedro's Racing Service.
1993: Pedro's brings Extra Dry to market.
1994: Oranj Peelz cleans chains everywhere with its pleasant citrus scent.
1995: Pedro's Mountain Bike Fest is started and named "Festival of the Year" by Mountain Bike Magazine.
1996: Lip Schit lip care introduced.
1997: Pedro's joins the Swix Sport USA family in Wilmington, MA.
1997: Pedro's Racing Service gets sponsored by Volvo.
1998: Pedro's introduces complete line of top-grade tools for professional bicycle mechanics. Named "The iMac" of bicycle tools by Bicycling Magazine.
1999: Developed through our passion for cyclocross, the Super Pit Kit becomes a permanent fixture at races worldwide.
2000: Pedro's founder Bruce Fina moves to Pedro's Europe to support expanding international demand.
2000: The coveted Master Tool Kit makes its commercial debut at Interbike industry tradeshow.
2001: Pedro's adds MTB Festival in Wisconsin.
2002: Robbie McEwen wins the coveted green jersey in the Tour de France riding on a prototype formulation of Road Rage.
2002: Working with the wax experts of Swix Sport, Pedro's introduces Liquid X chain lubricant at Interbike.
2003: OLN features MTB festival, sign Fidea cyclocross team.
2003: Pedro’s introduces ergonomic cable puller, Mini Pit Kit and our innovative Work Stand.
2003: Based on the success of the Lotto-Adecco team, Road Rage lube becomes commercially available.
2004: Robbie McEwen wins a second green jersey on the streets of Paris, again riding Road Rage lube.
2004: Master Toolkit 2.0 is released with 15 more tools.
2005: Professional, shop-grade Rock Stand introduced.
2005: Bicycle industry veteran Chris Zigmont hired as General Manager.
2006: Pedro’s undergoes a staff reformation with six new industry-expert staff members.
2006: Nearly a dozen new bicycle care products are introduced to consumers.
2006: Pedro’s begins North American Bicycle Care Revival Love Van Tour.
2006: Pedro’s restates environmental vows and introduces CHAINj, an environmentally friendly chain lube made from renewable resources.
